How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is a hands-on engineering role supporting the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a busy manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for ensuring production machinery, equipment and site services are maintained, repaired and operating efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering background and experience working within a manufacturing or production environment. Experience within the window, door, fenestration, UPVC, aluminium or similar manufacturing industries would be highly advantageous.

    THE ROLE

Working as part of the manufacturing and engineering team, you will play a key role in keeping production running efficiently by carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the site.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    *

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing machinery and equipment.

    *

Responding to breakdowns and carrying out effective fault-finding and repairs.

    *

Supporting production teams with machinery-related issues and minimising downtime.

    *

Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and identifying appropriate solutions.

    *

Maintaining and repairing production machinery, tools and associated equipment.

    *

Assisting with the installation, commissioning and relocation of machinery where required.

    *

Carrying out general maintenance across the manufacturing site, including site services and facilities.

    *

Working closely with production managers and operators to identify recurring machinery issues and implement preventative solutions.

    *

Ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.

    *

Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, repairs and servicing.

    *

Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve machinery reliability, efficiency and productivity.

    *

Liaising with external contractors and specialist engineers when required.

    *

Maintaining a safe, clean and well-organised working environment.

    *

Supporting with any other engineering and maintenance requirements across the site.

    ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will ideally have:

    *

Previous experience in a maintenance engineering or site engineering role.

    *

Experience working within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.

    *

A good understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems.

    *

    Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

    *

Experience maintaining and repairing production machinery.

    *

The ability to work independently and prioritise maintenance requirements effectively.

    *

A proactive approach to identifying potential machinery failures before they occur.

    *

Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with production teams.

    *

A strong understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.

    *

Relevant engineering qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential where suitable experience is demonstrated.

    WHY APPLY?

This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer looking for a varied, hands-on role within an established manufacturing business.

You will have the opportunity to work with a range of production machinery and equipment while playing an important role in maintaining production output and improving the reliability of the manufacturing operation.
