How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Teaching Assistant - KS2 - Chester

    Location: Chester area
    Start Date: November 2026
    Hours: 32.5 hours per week, term time only
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

    A welcoming primary school in the Chester area is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join its Key Stage 2 team from November 2026.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who enjoys being part of a close-knit school community and takes pride in helping children develop academically, socially and personally.

    The school has a strong focus on creating a calm, purposeful and inclusive environment where pupils feel supported, encouraged and able to achieve their potential. You will work alongside experienced teaching staff to provide effective classroom support and help ensure pupils get the most from their learning.

    About the Role

    As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

    Provide classroom and learning support across Key Stage 2
    Work alongside the class teacher to help pupils access the curriculum
    Support individual pupils and small groups where appropriate
    Help deliver targeted activities to reinforce learning
    Encourage positive behaviour, independence and confidence
    Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
    Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment
    Assist with the wider day-to-day running of the classroomWhat the School Is Looking For

    The ideal candidate will:

    Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or within a primary school
    Have a genuine interest in supporting children's education and development
    Be confident supporting pupils across KS2
    Have a patient, encouraging and positive approach
    Be able to adapt their support to different learning needs
    Communicate effectively with teachers, pupils and colleagues
    Be reliable, organised and able to work well as part of a team
    Have a strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeingA relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or previous school-based experience would be advantageous, although the school will consider candidates with the right experience and attitude.

    This could be particularly well suited to a person looking for a term time education and training role in Chester, or someone seeking a new opportunity within Key Stage 2.
