How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Title: Lead Planner
    Location: Oxford (Hybrid)
    Salary: £80-90,000 + package

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join a leading UK main contractor renowned for delivering complex and high-value infrastructure projects across the country. Based on site, you will take a lead role within the planning function on a major £200m infrastructure scheme for a key client in the UK energy sector.

    Working closely with the Project Director and senior site team, you will play a crucial role in driving the successful delivery of this high-profile project. You will take ownership of the construction programme, providing strategic planning support, detailed programme analysis and proactive management of risks and opportunities.

    The Lead Planner will have extensive experience gained within a UK main contracting environment, together with a proven track record delivering major infrastructure projects. They will have advanced Primavera P6 skills and excellent working knowledge of NEC contracts, with the confidence to work closely with senior project leadership, engineering and delivery teams. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead the planning function on a major £200m infrastructure project.
    Develop, manage and maintain the project construction programme using Primavera P6.
    Work closely with the Project Director, site team and senior stakeholders to drive programme performance.
    Identify programme risks, delays and opportunities, developing effective mitigation strategies.
    Provide detailed programme analysis and reporting to support key project decisions.
    Coordinate planning activities across engineering, construction, commercial and design teams.
    Ensure programme requirements are aligned with NEC contract obligations.
    Drive effective planning and sequencing across the project to support successful delivery.Candidate Requirements

    Extensive planning experience within a UK main contracting environment.
    Proven track record delivering major infrastructure projects.
    Experience working on complex, high-value projects, ideally within the energy/infrastructure sector.
    Advanced Primavera P6 skills.
    Excellent working knowledge and practical application of NEC contracts.
    Confident working with Project Directors, senior management and site delivery teams.
    Relevant construction, engineering or planning qualification desirable.Offer

    Basic salary £80-90,000 per annum
