We're currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Programme Delivery team of a large London-based organisation going through a significant period of IT and business transformation.
This is a varied role with responsibility for managing a range of business and technology change projects, working across the full project lifecycle from initiation and planning through to delivery, closure and benefits realisation.
You'll work closely with senior business stakeholders, technology teams, Business Analysts, development teams and third-party suppliers, ensuring projects are delivered effectively against agreed objectives, timescales, budgets and business outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Manage multiple business and IT projects across the full project lifecycle
Define project objectives, scope, delivery plans and success measures
Establish and maintain appropriate project governance, including project boards and steering committees
Manage budgets, forecasting, risks, issues, dependencies and resources
Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, sponsors and SMEs
Lead cross-functional project meetings and support requirements gathering
Work closely with Business Analysts and IT development teams throughout the SDLC
Manage third-party suppliers and delivery partners
Provide clear and timely reporting on project progress, risks and dependencies
Ensure projects deliver measurable business value and support benefits realisation
Apply Agile, DSDM, PRINCE2 or hybrid delivery approaches as appropriate
Contribute to the continuous improvement of project and programme delivery practicesAbout you
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager with a strong track record of delivering business and technology change projects in complex environments.
You'll ideally have:
Strong end-to-end project management experience
Experience managing both business and IT projects
Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills
Strong understanding of project governance and delivery standards
Experience working with Agile/DSDM and PRINCE2 methodologies
Good understanding of the software development lifecycle
Experience managing project budgets, forecasting and business cases
Experience working with Business Analysts, technical teams and third-party suppliers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience using tools such as MS Project, Azure DevOps and Microsoft OfficeA recognised project management qualification such as DSDM Agile Practitioner, AgilePM, PRINCE2 or equivalent is essential.
Experience within insurance, financial services or a professional body environment would be advantageous.
