How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Primary Teacher - Bedford- SEN Primary Teacher

    Academics are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Primary Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Bedford on a long-term basis, with an immediate start available.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher who is looking to work within a specialist environment where teaching is highly personalised and focused around the individual needs of each pupil.

    The school supports children with a range of complex learning needs, including severe learning difficulties, autism and associated communication, sensory and physical needs. The successful teacher will be confident adapting the curriculum, creating engaging lessons and working closely with support staff to ensure every pupil is able to make progress.

    You will be responsible for:

    Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons across a primary curriculum
    Adapting teaching to meet a range of SEN and complex learning needs
    Supporting pupils with their academic, communication, social and emotional development
    Working closely with Teaching Assistants and wider professionals
    Monitoring progress and contributing to individual education plans and EHCP outcomes
    Creating a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment
    Building strong relationships with pupils and helping them develop confidence and independenceThe ideal SEN Primary Teacher will:

    Have qualified teacher status or relevant teaching experience
    Have previous experience working with SEN pupils, either within a specialist SEN school or a mainstream setting supporting pupils with high needs
    Be confident adapting lessons and using a range of teaching strategies
    Have a patient, nurturing and consistent approach
    Be committed to supporting pupils with complex additional needs
