How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

KS1 Class Teacher: Part-Time Maternity Cover

Not every great teaching opportunity needs to be full-time.

Academics are recruiting an experienced KS1 Teacher for a part-time maternity cover position at a welcoming primary school in Berkhamsted.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who wants the consistency of having their own class and becoming part of a school community, without committing to a full five-day working week.

    The opportunity

The school is an established primary setting in Berkhamsted with a supportive team and a strong focus on creating a positive learning environment for its pupils.

We're looking for someone who can bring experience, consistency and enthusiasm into the classroom from day one.

    Position: KS1 Class Teacher
    Location: Berkhamsted
    Contract: Part-time maternity cover
Pay: £171-£245 per day, depending on experience and responsibilities
    Start: Available to discuss

    Who would suit this role?

We're particularly interested in hearing from a KS1 Teacher who already has good experience teaching within Key Stage 1.

You'll need to be confident with:

Planning and delivering the KS1 curriculum
    Phonics and early reading
    Assessment and pupil progress
    Differentiating lessons effectively
    Maintaining positive classroom behaviour
Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues
Communicating effectively with parents and carersAbove all, we're looking for an experienced teacher who can provide stability and consistency throughout the maternity cover.

    Looking for part-time teaching?

Quality part-time teaching opportunities can be difficult to find, particularly in popular areas such as Berkhamsted.

That's why this position could suit an experienced KS1 Teacher who wants to remain in the classroom while achieving a better balance outside school.

Academics works closely with primary schools across Berkhamsted, providing teachers with access to supply, long-term and permanent opportunities.

If you're an experienced KS1 Teacher looking for part-time work in Berkhamsted, we'd be keen to tell you more.
