How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Description:

    Location: London / Home Counties

    Salary: Competitive

    Sick of being the last person told before handover chaos?

    Most senior commissioning managers get pulled in once the design's locked and the problems are already baked in. This one's different — you'd be doing feasibility studies and drawing reviews from the start, so the systems are commissionable before anyone picks up a spanner.

    Is this you?

    You've cut your teeth with a Tier 1 contractor, either on the commissioning or MEP contracting side.

    You've delivered commissioning across multiple project types and sectors, and you've carried technical responsibility for multiple M&E packages worth £10m or more.

    You understand the full project lifecycle — not just the bit at the end where everyone panics.

    If that's you, keep reading.

    What you'll be doing

    * Running commissionability feasibility studies across the portfolio

    * Reviewing drawings to make sure systems are designed to commission properly, not just to build

    * Managing significant budgets and technical risk across M&E packages

    * Supporting the company's MEP strategy — less reliance on external suppliers, more control over quality and safety

    * Motivating and engaging the people delivering commissioning day to day

    What you'll need

    * Proven Tier 1 contractor experience in commissioning or MEP contracting

    * Technical responsibility for M&E packages of £10m+

    * Robust understanding of commissioning design, technical risk and opportunity management

    * Working knowledge of UK building regulations and construction H&S law

    CSA (Commissioning Specialist Association) membership is a bonus, not a requirement — if you've got the technical depth, don't rule yourself out.

    What you'll get

    Real influence over how projects are designed and delivered, not just how they're fixed at the end. Competitive salary, and the backing of a business actively investing in bringing commissioning in-house rather than treating it as an afterthought.

    How to apply

    Send your CV, or if you'd rather talk it through first, message me directly.

    Apply now.

    Benefits:

    * Company pension

    * Life Assurance

    * Healthcare

    * Cycle to work scheme
