How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Service Engineer – Water & Process Equipment
Home Based / Field Based – Southern UK
We are recruiting for a hands-on Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering business supporting equipment installed across water and wastewater treatment sites.
This is a field-based role for an engineer who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving and working directly with clients to keep equipment operating safely, reliably and efficiently.
You will be responsible for servicing, inspecting, maintaining and troubleshooting installed equipment, taking ownership of issues from initial investigation through to repair, recommendation and technical reporting.
    Responsibilities will include:
    * Carrying out servicing, inspection, maintenance and repair activities across client sites.
    * Fault-finding and diagnosing issues on mechanical and process equipment.
    * Working with equipment such as pumps, blowers, electric actuators, pressure sensors and flow meters.
    * Using plant data and operating information to help identify faults and performance issues.
    * Supporting clients with troubleshooting, plant optimisation and operational queries.
    * Planning service activities and ensuring work is completed safely and in line with site requirements.
    * Preparing clear service reports detailing work completed, equipment condition, findings, recommendations and outstanding actions.
    * Liaising with site operators, client representatives, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors.
    * Identifying materials, equipment and specialist services required to complete servicing and repair work.
    * Reviewing supplier quotations and providing technical input where required.
    * Highlighting changes to scope, additional works and potential commercial implications.
    * Supporting installation and commissioning activities where required.
    * Ensuring service tools, equipment and spares are maintained and available for site work.
We are looking for someone with a strong practical engineering background who is comfortable working independently across multiple sites.
    You are likely to have:
    * Experience servicing, maintaining or repairing mechanical or process equipment.
    * Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
    * Experience working with pumps, rotating equipment, process plant or similar industrial equipment.
    * The ability to diagnose problems methodically and identify practical solutions.
    * Good health and safety awareness when working on operational sites.
    * Experience producing service reports or technical documentation.
    * Good communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with clients and site personnel.
    * The ability to manage your own workload and take ownership of service activities.
    * A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.
Experience within the water or wastewater sector would be beneficial, although candidates from other process, industrial or mechanical service backgrounds will also be considered.
Some electrical knowledge or practical experience working safely around electrical equipment, instrumentation, actuators or sensors would also be advantageous.
Qualifications such as CSCS, SSSTS, IOSH or PASMA would be beneficial but are not essential.
    Working Pattern
This is a home-based, field-focused role involving regular travel to client sites, predominantly water and wastewater treatment works across the South of the UK.
Individual service visits will typically last one to two days, with occasional travel to other works, client meetings or installation and commissioning activities.
Weekend and out-of-hours working is not normally required.
    Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a growing specialist engineering business in a varied role where you will have genuine ownership of your work.
Rather than simply carrying out routine maintenance, you will be trusted to investigate problems, understand why equipment is not performing correctly and work with clients to deliver practical, long-term solutions.
Only those with the right to work in the UK can be considered for this position.
Full Circle Technical is acting as an employment business and agency. Only applicants with the right to work in the UK can be considered.
