How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Warehouse Team Leader

    Location: Lutterworth, Leicestershire
    Department: Operations
    Job Type: Permanent

    The Opportunity

    I am currently recruiting an experienced Warehouse Team Leader on behalf of my client, an award-winning international designer and manufacturer of premium surfaces for the commercial and residential interiors sector.

    My client supplies a wide range of high-quality products, including engineered stone, low-silica and silica-free materials, and porcelain surfaces used for kitchen worktops, splashbacks, bathroom vanities and other interior applications.

    Following significant expansion and the relocation of its Head Office and Distribution Centre to Lutterworth, Leicestershire, my client is looking to appoint a Warehouse Team Leader to play a key role within its new distribution operation.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Team Leader or Senior Warehouse Operative who enjoys being hands-on, leading from the front and taking responsibility for the smooth running of day-to-day warehouse operations.

    The Role

    Reporting into the Distribution Centre Manager and working closely with the Supply Chain Coordinator, you will help coordinate the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring goods are received, stored, handled and dispatched safely, accurately and efficiently.

    You will provide hands-on leadership on the warehouse floor, allocating workloads, monitoring workflow and supporting the wider team to achieve daily productivity and customer service targets.

    A key part of the role will be ensuring warehouse activities are completed in accordance with my client’s operating procedures, health and safety requirements and quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * Coordinating daily warehouse activities to ensure operational priorities, productivity and service targets are achieved

    * Allocating workloads and monitoring progress throughout the shift

    * Providing day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to warehouse colleagues

    * Escalating operational issues, resource constraints and potential service risks to the DC Manager

    * Supporting effective communication between warehouse colleagues, drivers and other departments

    * Overseeing the safe receipt, storage, movement and preparation of stock

    * Ensuring customer orders are picked, packed and loaded accurately and efficiently

    * Maintaining stock accuracy through routine checks and cycle counts

    * Ensuring appropriate stock rotation in line with FIFO principles

    * Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies and operational issues

    * Ensuring warehouse equipment and machinery are operated safely and any defects are reported promptly

    * Ensuring colleagues follow safe working practices, company procedures and reporting requirements

    * Supporting compliance with warehouse operating standards and quality requirements

    * Assisting with the induction and on-the-job training of new employees

    * Encouraging teamwork, accountability and consistently high standards of performance

    * Sharing best practice and identifying opportunities to improve working methods

    * Supporting colleagues in resolving operational challenges throughout the shift

    * Identifying opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency and productivity

    * Contributing ideas that improve customer service and overall operational effectiveness

    About You

    My client is looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership on the warehouse floor and can combine strong operational knowledge with a positive, hands-on leadership style.

    Working Environment

    This is a hands-on position based within a busy warehouse and distribution environment. The role will involve regular manual handling in accordance with safe working practices, alongside the use of forklift trucks, lifting equipment and other warehouse machinery where appropriately trained and authorised.

    Appropriate PPE must be worn as required, and some flexibility will be needed to support the operation during particularly busy or peak trading periods.

    Benefits

    In addition to joining a growing international business at an exciting stage of its development, my client offers an excellent benefits package including:

    * 26 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays

    * Option to purchase an additional 5 days’ annual leave per year

    * Private healthcare

    * Life assurance

    * Pension salary sacrifice scheme

    * Free on-site parking

    * Electric vehicle charging

    * Access to a retail discounts portal

    * Discretionary bonus

    * Company-paid one-off will-writing service

    * Generous employee product discount

    This is a great opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional who is ready to take on greater responsibility and play an important role in the successful operation of a new Distribution Centre in Lutterworth
