How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HR Advisor

    Location: Liverpool
Salary: £33,000–£37,000 plus bonus and an excellent benefits package

Hybrid Working: four days office-based and one day working from home
    Hours: Flexibility available

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join a busy, fast-paced organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HR professional who is passionate about employee relations and wants to make a genuine contribution to both the HR function and the wider business.

You will manage a varied caseload of complex employee relations matters from initial advice through to resolution. Working closely with managers across the organisation, you will provide practical, commercially focused guidance while ensuring processes are fair, consistent and compliant.

The role will also have a strong focus on absence management. You will support managers with short-term, long-term and recurring absence cases, monitor trigger points and use HR data to identify trends and areas requiring intervention.

    Key responsibilities

    * Take full ownership and accountability for complex ER cases from initial advice through to resolution.

    * Advise, coach and support managers on disciplinary, grievance, performance, capability and absence-management processes.

    * Manage short-term, long-term and recurring absence cases in line with company policy and employment legislation.

    * Monitor attendance levels, absence trends and policy trigger points, escalating concerns where appropriate.

    * Coach managers through return-to-work meetings, welfare meetings, occupational health referrals and formal absence-management procedures.

    * Advise on reasonable adjustments and disability-related absence.

    * Support managers in confidently and consistently applying HR policies and procedures.

    * Build trusted relationships with managers and key stakeholders across the business.

    * Identify potential risks and provide balanced, practical and commercially appropriate advice.

    * Maintain accurate case records and produce relevant HR reports and management information.

    * Use HR data to identify patterns and recommend practical interventions to improve attendance and employee wellbeing.

    * Support continuous improvement across HR policies, processes and the employee experience.

    * Contribute to wider HR projects, process improvements and business initiatives.

    * Work collaboratively with colleagues across HR and the wider organisation.

    Qualifications, skills and experience

    * CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification

    * Previous experience working at HR Advisor level is essential.

    * Strong experience managing a varied and complex ER caseload from beginning to end.

    * Demonstrable experience working within a busy, fast-paced environment.

    * Able to manage your own workload, prioritise competing demands and work autonomously.

    * Passionate and experienced in advising, coaching and supporting managers through ER processes.

    * Strong experience managing absence cases and advising managers on attendance-management procedures.

    * Confident interpreting absence data, identifying trends and monitoring policy trigger points.

    * Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice, including reasonable adjustments and disability-related absence.

    * Strong communication, relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.

    * Strong IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office applications.

    * Experience using Power BI to analyse data and produce reports would be advantageous.

    * Experience working within a unionised environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

    What’s on offer?

Alongside a competitive salary, the organisation offers hybrid working, flexibility around working hours, an excellent company benefits package and a performance-related bonus.

Development - You will also have the opportunity to develop beyond operational employee relations by contributing to HR projects, process improvements and people-data initiatives
