How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    LIVE-IN SUPPORT WORKER REQUIRED – £850 PER WEEK – IG6

    We are seeking an experienced, patient, compassionate and reliable Live-In Support Worker to provide person-centred support to an adult with:

    • Autism

    • Severe learning disabilities

    • Epilepsy

    • Non-verbal communication needs

    PAY: £850 per week, including agreed breaks

    LOCATION: IG6 area

    POSITION: Live-in Support Worker

    SUPPORT: Predominantly required during the daytime

    COMMUNITY SUPPORT: Several hours of 2:1 support alongside another Support Worker

    The individual generally sleeps well throughout the night, meaning the majority of active support is required during the daytime.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    This is a hands-on, person-centred Live-In Support Worker position for someone who is committed to providing safe, respectful and consistent support.

    The individual is non-verbal and communicates through pointing, signing and other non-verbal communication methods. The successful applicant will need to be patient, observant and willing to learn and understand the individual's preferred methods of communication.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Personal Care and Grooming

    Providing appropriate assistance with personal hygiene and grooming while maintaining dignity, privacy and respect.

    Toileting Support

    Providing prompting, checking and hygiene support when required.

    Dressing

    Supporting appropriate clothing choices and ensuring clothing is suitable for the weather and daily activities.

    Meals and Food Safety

    Preparing meals, promoting a healthy and balanced diet, and providing appropriate supervision in accordance with the individual's care and risk-management plans.

    Epilepsy and Medication

    Administering medication in accordance with the care plan, monitoring health and wellbeing, and responding appropriately to seizures in line with the individual's epilepsy management plan.

    Daily Living Skills

    Encouraging participation in everyday household activities and promoting independence wherever possible.

    Money and Communication

    Providing appropriate support with everyday transactions and communication when required.

    Community Access and Activities

    Supporting meaningful activities such as walks, cinema trips and other community-based activities.

    Community activities are supported on a 2:1 basis, meaning the Live-In Support Worker will work alongside another Support Worker for several hours during the day.

    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    We are particularly interested in applicants with experience supporting adults with:

    • Autism

    • Severe learning disabilities

    • Non-verbal communication needs

    • Epilepsy and seizure management

    • Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

    • Personal care

    • Medication administration

    The successful candidate should be:

    • Patient, calm and compassionate

    • Comfortable providing hands-on personal care

    • Confident supporting a non-verbal individual

    • Able to recognise changes in behaviour, health and wellbeing

    • Able to understand behaviour as a form of communication

    • Comfortable maintaining established routines and boundaries

    • Able to promote independence, choice and dignity

    • Reliable, consistent and responsible

    • Comfortable working independently and as part of a 2:1 support team

    • Able to maintain accurate and appropriate care records

    Experience with signing, Makaton or other alternative communication methods would be an advantage.

    Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check, as well as any required training and competency assessments
