How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Key Stage 1 Teacher | Havering

    Ready for a fresh start in the new year? Academics are currently recruiting for a permanent Key Stage 1 Teacher position in Havering, with a January start for a teacher who is passionate about giving children the very best start to their education.

    This role would suit a confident and motivated teacher who enjoys bringing learning to life and wants to become an integral part of a primary school for the long term.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Joining the school as a Key Stage 1 Teacher in Havering, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your classroom and create a learning environment where pupils are encouraged to participate, challenge themselves and develop their confidence.

    Your day-to-day role will include:

    Planning and delivering purposeful lessons that capture the interest of Key Stage 1 pupils.
    Building a classroom culture based on positivity, respect and high expectations.
    Using a range of teaching strategies to cater for different learning styles and abilities.
    Assessing children's work and using observations and data to support their development.
    Providing appropriate support and challenge to help pupils progress.
    Managing behaviour consistently and positively.
    Working closely with colleagues to share ideas and provide a joined-up approach to learning.
    Taking an active role in school activities and contributing to the wider school community.The Person

    The successful Key Stage 1 Teacher in Havering will ideally have:

    QTS and the right to teach in the UK.
    Previous experience teaching Key Stage 1 pupils.
    A secure knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
    Strong organisation and classroom management skills.
    The ability to adapt lessons around the needs of individual learners.
    A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
    Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
    A genuine commitment to children's progress and wellbeing.
