How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

HVAC Technical Sales Engineer / Estimator

    Southend-on-Sea, Essex | Up to £42,000 DOE |
    Monday–Friday | 08:00–16:30 |
    Office-Based

Are you an experienced HVAC professional with a background in technical sales, estimating or applications engineering?

We are working with a leading international manufacturer of HVAC and air distribution solutions that supplies products into the UK construction and building services sector.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an HVAC Technical Sales Engineer / Estimator to join their technical sales team.

This is an office-based role where you will support customers and the external sales team with technical product selection, estimating, quotations and project enquiries.

The role will involve reviewing drawings, schedules and specifications, selecting suitable products and producing accurate commercial quotations. You will also provide technical support on complex, high-value and specification-led projects.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Review and interpret HVAC drawings, specifications and schedules

    • Select appropriate grilles, diffusers, louvres and related products

    • Prepare accurate and timely quotations and estimates

    • Provide technical and commercial support to the external sales team

    • Respond to technical enquiries from customers, consultants and contractors

    • Support complex, high-value and specification-led enquiries

    • Review competitor specifications and identify suitable alternatives

    • Provide value engineering options where appropriate

    • Liaise with engineering and production teams on bespoke solutions

    • Manage multiple live enquiries and priorities to agreed deadlines

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within HVAC or building services, together with a background in technical sales, estimating or applications engineering.

You should have a good understanding of airflow principles and product selection, along with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Experience with grilles, diffusers, louvres or similar air distribution products would be highly advantageous. CAD experience and exposure to specification-led projects would also be beneficial.

The successful candidate will be commercially aware, highly organised and able to work at pace without compromising accuracy. You will need to be comfortable working as part of a team while taking ownership of your own workload.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established HVAC manufacturer that forms part of a wider international group. The role offers exposure to a broad range of technical products and projects, working alongside sales, engineering, production and customer teams.

The package includes a salary of up to £42,000 depending on experience, 25 days annual leave and Monday to Friday working hours of 08:00–16:30.

If you have an HVAC, building services, technical sales, estimating or applications engineering background and are looking for your next opportunity, apply today for a confidential discussion
