How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

When products leave a food manufacturing site, customers need to know they are safe, legal and consistently produced to the required standard. As a Quality Controller, you’ll be on the factory floor making sure processes, checks and records stand up to scrutiny while identifying issues before they become bigger problems.

You’ll be working within a diverse, fast-paced, chilled factory environment, alongside production and the wider technical team. There’s also a clear career pathway for people who want to develop their knowledge, take on greater responsibility and build a long-term career within food manufacturing.

    What’s in it for you

    £13.10 per hour
A clear career pathway with opportunities to develop and progress
Hands-on exposure to HACCP, BRCGS requirements and good manufacturing practices
A varied factory-based remit covering audits, checks, sampling and investigations
The opportunity to develop your technical knowledge within food manufacturing
A diverse workplace where your work directly supports product safety, legality and quality
    Your responsibilities as Quality Controller

Complete factory checks against HACCP procedures and product specifications, escalating discrepancies and non-conformances
Carry out CCP, pre-start, hygiene and measuring-equipment verification checks in line with agreed schedules
Maintain accurate paperwork and records to support full product traceability and due diligence
Support investigations into customer complaints, rejected products and factory issues, coordinating documentation and corrective actions
Complete organoleptic assessments and microbiological sampling, collecting and collating samples as required
Monitor food safety, GMP, hygiene and PPE compliance, reporting issues to relevant production and technical management
What we’re looking for in a Quality Controller

Previous experience working in a quality control role in a food manufacturing environment
    Good record-keeping and analytical skills
A good standard of numeracy and literacy
Knowledge of HACCP procedures, GMP and food hygiene requirements
Understanding of factory auditing, traceability and food-safety documentation
Ability to complete and maintain accurate compliance records
If you’re looking beyond your next pay packet and want to build a long-term career with a clear route to develop and progress, apply online now for this Quality Controller opportunity
