How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking for flexibility while maintaining a meaningful and influential role within a successful organisation.

Working closely with the Managing Director and senior management team, you will provide hands-on operational HR support, ensuring people processes are effective, compliant and aligned with business needs. You will be a trusted adviser to managers and employees, helping to maintain a positive, professional and well-managed working environment.

Provide practical guidance on performance management, absence, conduct, capability, grievance and disciplinary matters
Coach and support managers in effective people management and employee conversations
Maintain and review employment contracts, the employee handbook, HR policies and standard documentation
Ensure the business remains up to date with UK employment legislation and recommend appropriate changes
Support recruitment, onboarding, probation reviews, contractual changes, statutory leave processes and offboarding activities
Act as an approachable and confidential point of contact for employees requiring HR guidance and support.
Maintain accurate employee records and support HR reporting requirements
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, employee engagement and the overall employee experience
Promote a positive workplace culture while balancing commercial objectives with best-practice HR solutions

    Essential Skills & Experience:

Strong generalist HR experience at Senior HR Advisor or HR Manager level
Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations
Experience providing independent advice and support to managers and senior leaders
Commercially aware, with the ability to deliver pragmatic HR solutions
Strong communication, organisational and documentation skills
Professional, discreet and able to build credibility and trust at all levels
Self-motivated and comfortable working within a standalone or small HR function

    Ideally, you will have:

    CIPD Level 5 qualification
Previous experience within an SME environment
Experience within engineering, manufacturing, technical, distribution or B2B sectors
