We are currently recruiting for an experienced Carpenter / Outfitter to work on a marine vessel in Portland. The successful candidate will have previous marine experience and be confident fitting both exterior components and interior furniture to a high standard.
Our client is a well-established and highly regarded business within the marine industry.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Fitting marine components, including cleats, handrails, windows, hatches, stanchions and flooring.
* Completing the final installation and finishing of interior furniture.
* Carrying out outfitting work on marine refit and new-build projects.
* Reading and working accurately from technical drawings.
* Measuring, drilling and securing hardware, hatches and other components using hand and power tools.
* Measuring, cutting and installing insulation within designated areas of the vessel where required.
* Ensuring all work is completed safely and to the highest standard.
Qualifications and requirements:
* Previous experience working within the marine industry.
* Experience working on yachts or other marine vessels.
* NVQ Level 3 in Boatbuilding or Carpentry, or completion of a relevant apprenticeship.
* Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
* Strong attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.
