How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Operations Manager - MEP (Mechanical Bias)

    Salary: £110,000 - £120,000 + package
    Location: London / Greater London

We are working with a well-established and highly regarded MEP contractor to appoint an experienced Operations Manager - MEP (Mechanical Bias) to provide senior operational and technical leadership across major Building Services projects in London.

This is a senior position for an experienced MEP professional who can oversee complex project delivery, provide technical direction and ensure consistently high standards across multiple workstreams.

The business has an excellent reputation within the MEP market, a strong pipeline of major projects and an experienced leadership team. This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging schemes, learn from some of the industry's strongest professionals and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.

    The Role

You will provide senior operational and technical leadership across MEP projects, with a strong mechanical bias and a broad understanding of electrical Building Services.

A key focus of the role will be the early identification and management of technical, construction, quality and delivery risks, ensuring issues are identified, challenged and resolved before they impact programme, cost or quality.

    Key responsibilities include:

Providing senior operational leadership across major MEP projects.

Overseeing project delivery, ensuring programmes, quality and technical standards are maintained.

Providing strong mechanical technical leadership across design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning.

Supporting and developing project teams, engineers and specialist subcontractors.

Identifying and managing technical, design, construction and quality risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Reviewing design information, drawings and specifications to identify buildability, compliance and interface risks.

Ensuring robust quality standards and inspection processes are maintained across projects.

Identifying potential defects and issues early, driving preventative action and effective close-out.

Reviewing ITPs, inspection records, testing and commissioning requirements.

Managing interfaces between mechanical, electrical and specialist systems.

Providing technical challenge to project teams, consultants and subcontractors.

Supporting the resolution of complex technical, quality and delivery issues.

Driving lessons learned and continuous improvement across the operation.

Working closely with senior management to improve project performance, delivery standards and operational processes.

    About You

We are looking for a senior MEP professional with a strong mechanical background and significant experience within an MEP contracting environment.

    You will have:

Extensive experience delivering major MEP / Building Services projects.

A strong mechanical Building Services background.

Good understanding of electrical services and wider MEP interfaces.

Experience providing senior operational or project leadership across complex schemes.

Strong technical understanding of design, installation, testing and commissioning.

Proven experience identifying and managing technical, construction and quality risk.

Experience with quality control, inspections, ITPs and defect prevention.

    Strong commercial and contractual awareness.

The confidence and credibility to challenge issues and drive practical solutions.

Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.

    The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established MEP contractor with a strong reputation in the London market and an exciting pipeline of major projects.

You will be surrounded by experienced MEP professionals, working across technically demanding schemes and playing a key role in improving project delivery, managing risk and driving quality across the operation.

The business offers strong long-term progression and the opportunity to develop into an increasingly senior operational leadership position as the company continues to grow.

    Salary: £110,000 - £120,000 + package.

If you are a senior mechanically biased MEP professional with strong operational, technical, quality and risk experience, we'd be keen to hear from you
