How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract Surveyor

    Location: West London
    Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum
    Job Type: Permanent

    The Opportunity

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Contract Surveyor to join a well-established organisation based in West London. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused surveyor with strong contractor management experience to take ownership of contract performance, planned works and complex property-related projects.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring contractors deliver against agreed contractual requirements, KPIs, service levels, quality standards and budgets.

    The Role

    As Contract Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing contractor performance and ensuring that works are delivered efficiently, compliantly and to the required standard.

    Your key responsibilities will include:

    Managing contractors and overseeing overall contract performance.
    Reviewing valuations, costs and payment applications to ensure accuracy and value for money.
    Managing variations, contractual issues and disputes through to resolution.
    Monitoring contractor KPIs, performance standards and service levels.
    Ensuring full contractual and statutory compliance across relevant works and services.
    Taking responsibility for larger and more complex works and projects.
    Supporting the delivery and management of the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme.
    Managing and coordinating Damp, Mould and Condensation (DMC) cases, ensuring issues are appropriately investigated, actioned and monitored.
    Carrying out inspections and monitoring the quality and progress of works.
    Working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and other professional teams to ensure successful delivery.
    Identifying areas for improved contractor performance, cost control and service delivery.
    Maintaining accurate records and producing reports on contract performance, expenditure and works progress.

    About You

    We are looking for a proactive and commercially aware Contract Surveyor who is confident managing contractors and dealing with complex works and contractual matters.

    You will ideally have:

    Proven experience in contract or quantity surveying within a property, housing, construction or maintenance environment.
    Strong contractor and contract management experience.
    Experience reviewing valuations, costs and variations.
    A good understanding of contractual compliance, KPIs and service-level agreements.
    Experience managing planned and reactive works programmes.
    Knowledge and experience of damp, mould and condensation management would be highly advantageous.
    Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
    The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
    Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
    Experience dealing with disputes and resolving contractual issues.
