How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You’ll work closely with other engineering disciplines throughout the development lifecycle, supporting the integration and verification of hardware, firmware and software.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Designing high-quality and robust digital electronics hardware

    * Supporting the design and development of high-speed digital PCAs

    * Supporting hardware and system-level integration and verification activities

    * Producing and maintaining technical documentation and project deliverables

    * Ensuring designs remain under configuration control

    * Supporting technical reviews and design activities

    * Providing regular project progress updates

    * Coordinating day-to-day technical activities with lead engineers and other disciplines

    * Working closely with Manufacturing, Production and external suppliers

    Essential Skills & Experience

You should have strong experience in high-speed digital electronics design and development.

    Essential requirements include:

    * Degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering or another STEM-based subject

    * Experience designing high-speed digital electronics using modern FPGA and/or microprocessor devices

    * Experience with high-speed interconnect technologies

    * Experience with schematic capture using Mentor Graphics / Siemens EDA DxDesigner or similar

    * Knowledge of high-speed serial communication interfaces and protocols, including PCIe, Ethernet / IEEE 802.3, SPI and I2C

    * Experience with high-speed bus architectures, such as DDR3 / DDR4

    * Strong understanding of high-speed digital design techniques, including signal termination, controlled impedance, matched-length tracking, ground and power planes, and decoupling

    * Experience with functional simulation, timing analysis and circuit-level constraints

    * Experience with PCB layout and the ability to work closely with PCB layout engineers on high-speed designs

    * Hands-on experience integrating hardware, firmware and software on FPGA and microprocessor-based PCAs

    * Ability to coordinate technical activities and work collaboratively across multiple engineering disciplines

    * Experience working with Manufacturing / Production teams and external suppliers

    Desirable Experience

    The following would be advantageous:

    * Experience within the aerospace or defence industry

    * Experience working on complex or high-reliability systems

    * Ability to analyse system requirements and derive detailed hardware requirements

    * Experience with Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis at board level

    * Knowledge of FPGA and software programming languages, including VHDL, C and Assembler

    Qualifications & Security Clearance

    * Honours or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related STEM discipline

    * UK Citizenship is mandatory to meet security requirements and obtain SC clearance

    * Existing SC Clearance would be advantageous
