Are you an experienced Store Manager, Retail Manager or Assistant Manager with a genuine passion for fishing and angling?
We're recruiting for a Store Manager in Reading to join a leading specialist retail business. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused retail leader who enjoys developing teams, driving sales and delivering an excellent customer experience.
You don't necessarily need previous experience in fishing retail. We're open to candidates from a range of backgrounds, including experienced Assistant Managers ready to step up and strong hospitality managers looking to move into retail, provided you have the leadership skills, commercial awareness and passion for fishing we're looking for.

The Role
As Store Manager, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the Reading store, leading and developing your team while driving sales, customer service and overall commercial performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
*
Leading, coaching and developing a team to deliver excellent customer service
*
Taking ownership of store sales, KPIs and commercial performance
*
Motivating the team to achieve and exceed sales targets
*
Delivering an exceptional customer experience through expert advice and service
*
Managing rotas, stock, administration, compliance and health & safety
*
Maintaining high standards of visual merchandising and store presentation
*
Managing colleague performance, training and development
*
Building strong relationships with customers and encouraging repeat business
*
Handling customer and colleague issues confidently and professionally
*
Working closely with the wider management team to achieve business objectives
About You
We're looking for a people-focused, commercially minded retail manager who enjoys leading from the front and creating a great customer experience.
You'll ideally have:
*
Previous experience as a Store Manager, Retail Manager, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager or similar
*
Strong people management and leadership skills
*
Experience working towards sales targets and KPIs
*
Excellent customer service and communication skills
*
A confident and organised approach to running a busy retail store
*
A genuine passion for fishing or angling
*
Good knowledge of fishing products and equipment
*
The enthusiasm to share your knowledge and passion with customers
Don't have previous retail management experience?
If you're an experienced Hospitality Manager, Restaurant Manager, Assistant General Manager or similar looking to move into retail, we'd still like to hear from you if you have strong leadership, sales and customer service experience and a genuine passion for fishing.
Equally, if you're an Assistant Manager ready to step up into your first Store Manager role, this could be an excellent opportunity to take that next step.
