How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Our client is one of Britain's leading residential developers, with an outstanding reputation built on quality, innovation and a commitment to creating places where people genuinely want to live.

Their approach goes far beyond simply constructing homes. They focus on designing well-planned neighbourhoods, building responsibly and creating long-term communities that benefit residents and the surrounding environment. The Development

You will be based on a fast-moving, prestigious new residential development in Tewkesbury - the wider scheme is creating a substantial new community, with attractive new homes surrounded by extensive green space and a range of facilities designed to support modern family living. The development incorporates areas for recreation, play and sport, alongside community amenities and landscaping that will help establish a sustainable and welcoming neighbourhood.

The location offers excellent access to Tewkesbury, Cheltenham and the wider Gloucestershire area, with strong transport links to the M5 and Ashchurch railway station.

    The Role

Reporting to the Senior Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of construction activities, ensuring homes are delivered safely, efficiently and to the high standards expected by a leading national housebuilder.

    Key responsibilities will include:

Managing and coordinating subcontractors and trades on site
Maintaining the construction programme and ensuring key deadlines are achieved
Ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
Carrying out quality inspections and managing snagging requirements
Coordinating labour, materials and plant requirements
Working closely with the Contracts Manager and wider construction team
Maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress
Ensuring homes are delivered to the required quality and customer standards

    Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Previous experience as a Site Manager within volume housebuilding
Strong knowledge of new-build residential construction
Excellent leadership and subcontractor management skills
A strong commitment to health and safety and quality
    SMSTS
    First Aid at Work
    CSCS Card
    Strong organisational and communication skills

    The Opportunity

Freelance contract for approximately 3–4 months
Opportunity to work for one of the UK's most respected housebuilders
    Prestigious large-scale residential development
    Competitive day rate
    Professional and well-supported site environment
If you are an experienced Freelance Site Manager with a strong housebuilding background and are available for a contract in the Tewkesbury area, we would be very interested in hearing from you.
