How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    MUST HAVE NUCLEAR EXPERIENCE

Are you an experienced EC&I Engineer with a background in the nuclear sector and looking for your next challenging project?
We are currently seeking an EC&I Senior Engineer to join a major engineering programme at Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth, supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure for the UK's submarine and warship programmes.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a high-profile, multi-disciplinary engineering team delivering a major Submarine Defuel Delivery Project (SDDP), including the design and implementation of the Reactor Access House (RAH) and its associated tools and systems.

    The Opportunity
The Devonport site is undergoing significant infrastructure investment to support the UK's future submarine and warship programmes.
As part of the 14 Dock Readiness Programme, the Submarine Defuel Delivery Project is delivering the infrastructure, equipment and systems required to establish a defuel capability for out-of-service submarines.
As an EC&I Senior Engineer, you will play a key role within the engineering team, supporting the Design Manager and taking responsibility for the delivery of EC&I activities across the project lifecycle.
You will have the opportunity to work on complex, safety-critical engineering within a highly regulated nuclear environment.
    Key Responsibilities

Deliver EC&I engineering activities to the required scope, quality, schedule and cost.
Support the Design Manager in the successful delivery of project scope and EC&I work packages.
Take responsibility for technical aspects of EC&I packages, including the development and updating of documentation and drawings from detailed design through to as-built status.
Undertake EC&I inspections and site surveys, ensuring installed systems comply with manufacturing drawings and the approved reference design.
Produce and review technical design documentation, drawings and engineering records.
Ensure appropriate configuration, quality and document controls are maintained throughout the project.
Work in accordance with the company's Business Management System, Technical Manual and relevant engineering procedures.
Support the implementation of effective Quality Management Arrangements.
Identify and communicate engineering hazards and risks, supporting appropriate risk assessments and controls.
Work collaboratively with engineering, design, construction and commissioning teams.
Provide technical input and engineering support throughout project delivery.
    What We're Looking For
    Essential:

Proven experience working as an EC&I Engineer within the nuclear sector.
Experience in the design and development of EC&I systems.
Strong as-built engineering experience, including site surveys and production/updating of as-built drawings.
Experience developing and reviewing technical design documentation.
Sound understanding of engineering design principles and safety practices within a regulated environment.
Good understanding of engineering quality and configuration management requirements.
Ability to work within formal engineering, health & safety and quality procedures.
Experience using relevant engineering design and computer applications.
Degree or equivalent qualification in EC&I Engineering or a related discipline.Desirable:

Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartered status.
Membership of a relevant professional engineering institution.
Experience of working on nuclear infrastructure, defence or submarine programmes.
Experience working within complex, safety-critical engineering environments.
    Why Apply?
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced nuclear EC&I professional to work on a high-value, technically challenging infrastructure programme at one of the UK's most strategically important engineering sites.
You will be joining a project that directly supports the UK's submarine capability, working alongside experienced engineering professionals across multiple disciplines.
If you have strong nuclear EC&I design experience, particularly with surveys and as-built documentation, we'd be keen to hear from you
