We are currently recruiting for an experienced Steel Erector to join an established construction company on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient erection and installation of structural steelwork across a variety of local projects. The role will involve working as part of a site team, following drawings and specifications and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
The Role
Erecting and installing structural steelwork on site
Working from engineering drawings and specifications
Bolting, fixing and aligning steelwork
Assisting with the positioning and installation of steel structures
Using hand and power tools safely
Working alongside other trades and site teams
Following lifting plans and safe systems of work
Ensuring all work is completed safely and to the required standards
Maintaining good housekeeping and site safety
Travelling to various sites within approximately 20 miles of Castlewellan
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience as a Steel Erector or in a similar structural steel role
Good understanding of steel erection and construction site practices
Ability to read and work from drawings
Experience using relevant hand and power tools
Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements
Reliable and punctual approach to work
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full driving licence would be advantageous
Relevant site qualifications/tickets would be advantageous
