How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An established and growing structural engineering consultancy in Nottinghamshire is looking to recruit a Graduate Structural Engineer with around 2 years' industry experience to join its close-knit and supportive team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer who is looking to build on their early career experience, gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects, and work alongside experienced engineers who are committed to professional development.

    You'll be involved in projects across residential, commercial, industrial, and education sectors, supporting the design and delivery of structural solutions from concept through to completion.

    Responsibilities

    Assist with the design of structural projects using steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.

    Produce structural calculations, reports, and technical drawings.

    Support senior engineers in the delivery of projects from inception to completion.

    Attend site visits and carry out structural inspections when required.

    Liaise with architects, contractors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.

    Contribute to design meetings and technical discussions.

    Work towards achieving chartership with ICE or IStructE.

    Requirements

    Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.

    Approximately 2 years of experience within a UK consultancy environment.

    Working knowledge of structural design principles and relevant British Standards/Eurocodes.

    Experience using design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS, MasterSeries, or similar.

    Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit would be advantageous.

    Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to learning.

    Full UK driving licence preferred.
