How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role Title: Quantity Surveyor

    Role Purpose:

    Support the commercial and pre-construction delivery of regional infrastructure projects within a major programme. Working with the Commercial Manager and team, you'll contribute from award through to contract signing, mobilisation and handover. Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll assist with commercial control, procurement, cost planning, data analysis and risk management, ensuring compliance with company and client standards.

    You’ll help maintain accurate records, support supplier engagement and quotation analysis, and contribute to building robust cost and commercial information for successful project delivery.

    What You Will Be Doing

    * Support pre-construction commercial activities including budgets, cost plans, tenders and submissions

    * Monitor risks, budgets, procurement progress and supplier performance

    * Maintain trackers, forecasts, risk registers and financial records

    * Assist with procurement planning and supplier engagement

    * Prepare enquiries and analyse quotations for value, compliance and risk

    * Produce comparisons, recommendations and maintain clear procurement records

    * Support contract reviews, identifying risks, gaps and obligations

    * Assist with supplier agreements and ensure alignment with main contract terms

    * Maintain contractual documentation and records

    * Support cost, value and margin reporting

    * Help identify risks, allowances and procurement gaps

    * Produce reports on progress, budgets and commercial risk

    * Take part in training and continuous professional development

    * Support team knowledge sharing where needed

    About You

    * Experience in construction, telecoms or similar sectors

    * Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts

    * Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills

    * Confident working with data, procurement and cost planning

    * Collaborative, proactive and detail-focused

    * Experience on defence/MoD projects (desirable)

    * Able to obtain DV security clearance (essential)
