How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Welder / Fabricator

    About Us
JG Pears is a fourth-generation family business that's grown from a livestock farm near Penistone into one of the largest names in the UK's animal by-products sector, processing over 10,000 tonnes of material a week across the Group.

We're investing heavily in where this industry is heading, from our own combined heat and power plant, to a windfarm on our own land, to a joint venture right next door at High Marnham building a hydrogen production facility that's helping drive the UK towards net zero.

We're recruiting six Welder/Fabricators to join our Mechanical Team at Low Marnham, as part of the continued growth of our maintenance function.

Salary: £42,000 to £45,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience), with overtime paid at time plus a quarter
    Location: Low Marnham, NG23 6SP
Working pattern: 4 on 4 off, days only (05:30 to 17:30)

    Core Benefits

    20 days holiday entitlement
    Company pension scheme
    Company sick pay scheme

Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics to complete tasks accurately
Ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard, meeting safety regulations and company requirements
Using a variety of welding techniques, including MIG and TIG
Working confidently with hand tools and a range of materials, including stainless steel and aluminium
Operating cutting, bending and shaping tools for metal fabrication
Following health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment
Maintaining records of work completed and materials used
