How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior Commercial Finance Analyst / Hybrid Location: London

This role is for DCC employees only (excludes day rate contractors).

Team – Finance / Function - Commercial, Finance & Corporate Assurance

    Closing date 11th September 2026

Join the Commercial Finance team and play a key role in supporting one of the largest areas of DCC's cost base. Reporting to Matthew Bright, this role sits at the heart of commercial decision-making, partnering with contract and supplier management teams to provide financial insight, challenge and guidance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded accountant looking to broaden their stakeholder engagement experience and develop towards a Finance Business Partner career path. The role offers exposure to senior stakeholders, strategic planning activities and major supplier contracts that underpin DCC's operations.

Why this role could be the right next step for you

We're excited to open this opportunity internally and encourage colleagues from across DCC to consider how this role could support your development, broaden your experience, or help you take the next step in your career journey.

This role combines management accounting excellence with commercial finance partnering. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the business, helping them understand costs, shape financial plans and support key supplier and contract decisions. If you're looking to build your commercial influence and gain exposure to strategic financial planning, this could be an excellent next step.

How you will contribute to transforming the smart energy network and shaping the future

    ·      Deliver month-end activities, management accounting processes and financial reporting across a significant area of the DCC cost base.

    ·      Support annual and five-year planning activities, providing insight and analysis to inform business decisions

    ·      Partner with Contract and Supplier Management teams to understand, forecast and challenge cost drivers across key service providers.

    ·      Review financial models, assumptions and business cases, providing robust commercial challenge and recommendations

    ·      Build strong relationships with stakeholders across and beyond Finance, acting as a trusted advisor and critical friend.

    What you need to bring

    ·      Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).

    ·      Strong management accounting experience with the ability to interpret and explain financial performance

    ·      A commercial mindset, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and understand underlying business drivers.

    ·      Excellent stakeholder management skills and a genuine interest in working collaboratively across the organisation.

    ·      Curiosity, adaptability and a desire to understand how business operations and contracts influence financial outcomes.

A supportive step for your development

At DCC, internal mobility is encouraged and supported. You don't need to meet every requirement to apply. If this role aligns with your interests, career goals or strengths, we welcome your application.

We are committed to developing our colleagues and helping them grow in their roles, and we encourage you to have a conversation with your manager about how this opportunity fits into your development.

    How to apply

To apply, please submit your internal application via the careers portal.

If you'd like an informal chat about the role, please contact Matthew Bright (Hiring Manager) or Steph Owen (Recruitment Partner).

If you require any adjustments or support during the process, the recruitment team is here to help.
