How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Role
    We are seeking an enthusiastic, patient and inspiring Science Teacher to join our dedicated team.
    The successful candidate will have a passion for making Science accessible, practical and engaging for pupils with a wide range of abilities and additional needs.
    You will plan and deliver stimulating Science lessons that encourage curiosity, questioning and problem-solving, whilst adapting your teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils.
    This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who wants to make a genuine difference and develop their practice within a specialist, trauma-informed educational environment.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Plan and deliver engaging and appropriately challenging Science lessons.
    * Teach Science across an appropriate range of ages and abilities.
    * Adapt teaching, resources and assessment to meet individual pupil needs.
    * Develop pupils' understanding of scientific concepts through practical and hands-on learning.
    * Encourage curiosity, questioning, investigation and independent thinking.
    * Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
    * Create a calm, structured and emotionally safe learning environment.
    * Support pupils who may experience anxiety, dysregulation or difficulties with engagement.
    * Use positive behaviour support and trauma-informed approaches within the classroom.
    * Monitor, assess and record pupil progress.
    * Set appropriate learning objectives and contribute to individual education or learning plans.
    * Work collaboratively with teaching, pastoral and therapeutic colleagues.
    * Promote pupils' confidence, independence and enjoyment of learning.
    * Maintain high expectations while recognising individual barriers and starting points.
    * Ensure practical Science activities are planned and delivered safely and appropriately.
    * Contribute to the wider development and life of the school.
    About You
    We are looking for a Science Teacher who is:
    * Qualified to teach Science or has appropriate subject expertise and teaching experience.
    * Passionate about Science and enthusiastic about sharing that passion with young people.
    * Patient, nurturing and emotionally intelligent.
    * Able to adapt teaching for pupils with ASD, ADHD, attachment difficulties and trauma-related needs.
    * Confident creating structured and engaging learning environments.
    * Calm and consistent when faced with challenging behaviour or emotional dysregulation.
    * Creative in their approach to teaching and able to make Science relevant and accessible.
    * Skilled at building positive relationships with pupils who may have previously struggled within education.
    * Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    * Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
