How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Deputy SENDCO - SEN/SEMH School

    Location: West London
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Full-time, long-term

    Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist secondary SEN school in West London for an experienced and passionate Deputy SENDCO to join their team from September 2026.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher with strong SEN and SEMH experience who is looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role within the school's SEND provision.

    The Role

    This is a dual-role position, with approximately 70% of the role focused on teaching and 30% supporting the SENDCO, who also holds the position of Assistant Principal.

    You will work closely with the SENDCO and wider leadership team to ensure pupils receive the appropriate support and provision to meet their individual needs.

    The teaching element of the role will involve working with pupils within a specialist SEMH setting, while the SEND responsibilities will include supporting with the coordination and development of SEND provision across the school.

    Key Responsibilities

    Teach engaging and appropriately differentiated lessons to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
    Support the SENDCO with the day-to-day coordination of SEND provision.
    Contribute to the development, implementation and review of EHCP provision.
    Work closely with teachers, support staff, families and external professionals.
    Help monitor pupil progress and identify appropriate interventions.
    Support colleagues with advice and strategies around SEND.
    Contribute to staff development and promote inclusive practice.
    Maintain high expectations of pupils while understanding their individual needs.
    Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement with learning.

    The Ideal Candidate

    The successful candidate will:

    Hold QTS - essential.
    Have previous experience working in a specialist SEN school - essential.
    Have strong experience working with pupils with SEMH needs - essential.
    Have experience supporting pupils with additional needs such as Autism.
    Have a strong understanding of SEND, EHCPs and inclusive practice.
    Ideally have experience working within a SEND leadership or coordination role.
    Be confident working alongside senior leaders and external professionals.
    Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
    Be passionate about improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs.This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN teacher looking to develop their leadership experience while remaining heavily involved in classroom teaching.
