Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in the Taunton area for a Lab Technician.
This role is being offered on a temporary basis initially, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. This Lab Technician role would suit candidates with experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, laboratory support, quality control or process-based environments.
The Role
As a Lab Technician, you will carry out a variety of hands-on tasks within a controlled working environment, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately and in line with established procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting specialist manufacturing and processing activities
* Handling chemicals and controlled materials in accordance with COSHH and Health & Safety procedures
* Preparing, processing and inspecting small components and assemblies
* Following detailed work instructions and quality standards
* Carrying out checks to ensure consistency and accuracy
* Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area
* Working effectively as part of a small team
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this Lab Technician opportunity, you should have:
* Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, laboratory, processing or quality-focused environment
* Experience handling chemicals or controlled materials would be advantageous
* An understanding of COSHH and workplace Health & Safety requirements
* Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
* The ability to follow procedures and work instructions accurately
* A reliable, positive and flexible approach to work
Applicants with experience as a Manufacturing Operative, Process Operative, Assembly Operative, Laboratory Assistant, Quality Inspector or Manufacturing Technician are encouraged to apply.
