How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HSE Advisor

    Salary: £40,000 – £45,000
    Location: Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire
    Flexibility around standard working hours

An established manufacturing business is looking for an HSE Advisor to support the continued development of Health, Safety and Environmental standards across its operations.

This is a broad, hands-on HSE Advisor role for someone who enjoys being visible on the shop floor, speaking with people and turning good HSE systems into practical working standards. There is plenty to improve, making this a strong opportunity for someone who wants to influence how safety is managed rather than simply maintain an established system.

What this HSE Advisor role offers:

    *

A varied HSE role covering systems, audits, risk assessments, investigations and employee engagement

    *

The opportunity to improve existing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems

    *

A manager who is open to developing someone with the right attitude and potential

    *

Scope to become a trusted deputy and take on greater responsibility over time

    *

    Flexible start and finish times

    Company Overview

This is an established manufacturing organisation with a large operational site and a range of manufacturing processes.

The business is looking to strengthen its HSE culture, improve its management systems and create better communication between HSE and employees across the shop floor.

    Role Overview

The HSE Advisor will provide day-to-day support across Health, Safety and Environmental activities.

The role needs someone who can balance documentation and compliance with practical shop-floor engagement. A key part of the position will be building relationships, running toolbox talks and helping employees understand why HSE systems and standards matter.

Key Responsibilities As a HSE Advisor

    *

Carry out workplace inspections, internal audits and compliance checks

    *

Complete and review risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work

    *

Support COSHH assessments and the safe use of machinery, equipment and hazardous substances

    *

Assist with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems

    *

Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and follow through corrective actions

    *

Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and refresher training

    *

Work closely with Safety Representatives and operational teams

    *

Maintain HSE records, reports and compliance documentation

    *

Support environmental activities including waste, emissions and energy reporting

    *

Assist with emergency procedures, fire safety and evacuation drills

    *

Provide cover for the SHEF Manager when required

    Requirements

    *

    NEBOSH General Certificate

    *

Around 2–3 years' experience within Health & Safety

    *

Manufacturing or engineering experience is preferred, although other operational environments will be considered

    *

    Exposure to ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001

    *

Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with shop-floor teams

    *

A practical, proactive approach to Health & Safety

    *

Internal Auditor qualification would be advantageous

Candidates who have previously worked in operational, maintenance or manufacturing roles before moving into Health & Safety would also be particularly relevant.

If you are an HSE Advisor or HSE Officer looking for a role where you can develop, improve systems and have a genuine influence on safety culture, please apply for further information
