How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Help us continue to build the UK's most progressive personal training system.

Roar integrates world-class personal training with nutrition, recovery and performance to help our members live healthier, stronger and longer lives.

Our ambition is to become recognised as a global leader in the boutique fitness space, known not only for exceptional member experiences and outcomes, but for developing elite level coaches.

To support our continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Head of Coaching, Recovery & Performance to join our leadership team.

This is an opportunity to shape the future of coaching within a business that values education, innovation and continuous improvement.

    About the Role

This is not a traditional Fitness Manager or Head Trainer position.

You'll be responsible for leading and developing our City of London coaching team, raising coaching standards, delivering ongoing education and helping shape the future of our recovery and performance offering.

Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will maintain a premium portfolio of personal training and nutrition clients, ensuring you remain closely connected to the member experience whilst leading by example.

You'll also play a key role in developing our integrated recovery proposition, ensuring recovery becomes an integral part of every member's journey rather than a standalone service.

    What You'll Be Responsible For

    Coaching

    ·      Leading and mentoring the coaching team.

    ·      Developing coaching standards and best practice.

    ·      Helping develop and delivering an ongoing internal education programme.

    ·      Supporting recruitment, onboarding and coach development.

    ·      Building a high-performance coaching culture.

    Recovery

    ·      Developing our recovery proposition and memberships.

    ·      Integrating recovery into the wider coaching journey.

    ·      Supporting the implementation of new recovery technologies and services.

    ·      Helping members optimise performance through recovery and regeneration.

    Performance

    ·      Supporting the continued development of our nutrition and health optimisation offering.

    ·      Delivering premium personal training and nutrition coaching.

    ·      Contributing to service innovation.

    ·      Working closely with the leadership team to continually improve the member experience.

    Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys developing people just as much as developing clients.

You'll be an experienced coach with a genuine passion for education, leadership and continuous learning.

You'll enjoy mentoring others, challenging standards and helping build a coaching culture where excellence becomes the norm.

Most importantly, you'll lead with humility, professionalism and a calm, considered approach.

    Experience & Qualifications

    You'll ideally have:

    • A minimum of five years' experience as a Personal Trainer, Strength & Conditioning Coach or Performance Coach, working with a broad range of clients and training goals.
    • Demonstrable expertise in resistance training programme design, including the application of evidence-based principles for strength development, hypertrophy, body composition, movement quality and long-term physical performance.
    • A comprehensive understanding of exercise physiology, biomechanics and the variables that underpin effective programme design, including volume, intensity, frequency, exercise selection, movement competency, progression models, fatigue management and periodisation.
    • Experience applying a variety of programming methodologies to meet individual client needs, adapting programmes based on assessment findings, training history, lifestyle factors and ongoing performance data.
    • Display and in-depth and broad understanding of nutrition principles including but limited to body composition optimisation, anti aging and longevity, health and lifestyle, blood sugar management, supplementation.
    • Strong understanding of behaviour change, coaching psychology and client adherence.
    • Experience leading, mentoring or developing other coaches.
    • Excellent communication, presentation and coaching skills.

    Desirable (but not essential):

    • Qualifications in functional medicine.
    • Experience interpreting health assessments or blood biomarkers within an appropriate coaching scope of practice.
    • Experience designing internal education programmes.
    • A degree or higher education qualification in Sport Science, Exercise Science, Nutrition or a related discipline.

    The Person

You'll thrive in this role if you are:

    • Passionate about developing coaches.
    • Curious and committed to lifelong learning.
    • A confident communicator and educator.
    • Organised and systems-oriented.
    • Commercially aware without compromising coaching quality.
    • Excited by innovation and helping shape the future of coaching.

    Why Join Roar?

    You'll have the opportunity to:

    • Lead one of London's most ambitious coaching teams.
    • Help shape the future direction of coaching at Roar.
    • Help build an integrated coaching, recovery and performance proposition.
    • Continue coaching your own portfolio of premium clients.
    • Influence business strategy and future service development.
    • Help develop the next generation of outstanding coaches.

If you're looking for more than just another management role, and want to help build something genuinely different, we'd love to hear from you.

Please send your CV and a short covering letter explaining why you're interested in joining Roar Fitness.
