How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Graduate – Energy Project Development

    Location: London

    Reporting to: Development Manager

Experience: Graduate or 0–1 years' experience

    About Electric Land

Electric Land is a real estate and infrastructure investor and developer of powered land for Europe's energy and digital transition. Founded in 2015 as Europe's first energy ground lease platform, we're backed by Stonepeak, a global institutional investor, and work from offices in London and Hamburg.

We operate across three business lines. Electric Land Investors (ELI) is our land investment platform, acquiring land and leases for renewable energy and storage projects. Electric Land & Power (ELP) develops battery storage, flexible generation, solar, wind and EV charging sites, and has delivered 22 projects to date (1.5GW), with a further 40 projects and 4.5GW in the pipeline. Electric Land Digital (ELD) develops data centres across the UK and Europe.

    About the role

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Graduate to join our project development team, providing administrative and project support across our development activities. The role gives hands-on exposure to the development of energy infrastructure projects, supporting activities across planning, grid, legal, technical due diligence, project administration and new business development.

This is a good opportunity for someone at the start of their career who wants to build a broad understanding of how energy projects are originated, developed and brought towards construction. You'll get exposure across all three of Electric Land's business lines and the different disciplines involved: financial, commercial, technical and legal, including some exposure to our development business in Germany, with occasional travel in Europe. It suits a self-motivated individual who wants to grow their experience across these areas and build a career in project development.

    Key responsibilities

    Planning, technical and legal support

    •      Engage with planning consultants and technical advisers to achieve deliverables.

    •      Assist with tracking planning conditions and associated discharge requirements.

    •      Manage external solicitors for status updates and review draft documentation.

    •      Review legal, technical and planning drawings to make sure they meet project requirements.

    Project and document management

    •      Maintain project planning trackers, condition discharge trackers and other project administration tools.

    •      Assist with maintaining basic project cost and expense records.

    •      Upload, organise and maintain project documentation within virtual data rooms (VDRs).

    •      Assist with the preparation and maintenance of due diligence questionnaires (DDQs).

    •      Maintain project filing systems and make sure documents are appropriately named and stored.

    •      Assist with adviser scheduling, meetings and project administration.

    Stakeholder and project coordination

    •      Assist with coordinating project exits internally and with external advisers.

    •      Manage investor information requests and track responses.

    •      Prepare first drafts of project update emails and responses to investors and other stakeholders.

    •      Coordinate site visits and external meetings.

    •      Assist with grid administration, technical submissions and document management.

    •      Gain exposure to financial, commercial, technical and legal workstreams by shadowing senior team members and sitting in on relevant meetings and discussions.

    New business and opportunity screening

    •      Research potential new business opportunities across Electric Land Investors (ELI), Electric Land & Power (ELP) and Electric Land Digital (ELD), and prepare initial summaries for the development team.

    •      Support the initial screening of development opportunities for new sites and within Electric Land's existing portfolio.

    •      Support the execution and negotiation of commercial agreements such as land deals, easements and project sales, working alongside the development and legal teams.

    •      Support outreach to potential partners, DNOs and consultants as directed by the development team.

    Skills and experience

    Essential

    •      Recently graduated or currently studying a relevant degree, ideally in engineering, energy, economics, business, planning or a related discipline.

    •      Excellent organisational and administrative skills.

    •      A proactive self-starter who can take ownership of tasks assigned to them.

    •      Strong attention to detail.

    •      Good written and verbal communication skills.

    •      Comfortable working with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

    •      Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

    •      Strong interest in the UK energy and infrastructure sector.

    Desirable

    •      Comfortable with occasional travel within Europe.

    •      Previous internship or work experience in energy, infrastructure, property, planning, engineering or professional services.

    •      Familiarity with the UK electricity market, planning process or electricity networks.

    •      Experience with document management systems or VDRs.

    •      Basic understanding of renewable energy, BESS, flexible generation or other energy infrastructure.
