How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

    As a Vatting Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring blending activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Working within our Spirit Supply team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of production schedules while maintaining compliance with quality, safety and excise requirements. The role also acts as deputy to the Process Lead - Blending & Vatting when required, providing support across operational and compliance activities.


    Key Responsibilities

    •Ensure blending activities are completed in line with agreed production plans and quality standards.

    •Manage SAP, DRAMS and Scada transactions within required timescales.

    •Maintain accurate records, including IBS tracker updates and month-end accounts.

    •Complete HMRC submissions and carry out appropriate accuracy checks.

    •Support bottling and export schedules through effective vatting operations.

    •Conduct spirit intake and dispatch activities, including tanker movements.

    •Carry out IBC filling, vat-to-vat transfers, spirit reduction, spirit colouring and chill filtration processes.

    •Monitor and maintain high GMP and housekeeping standards.

    •Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe systems of work are followed.

    •Maintain site security and excise compliance standards.

    •Build positive relationships with transport providers and key stakeholders.


    What We're Looking For


    Minimum Qualifications

    •Higher level education, workplace training or qualification demonstrating good numerical and written skills.

    •Forklift Truck certification beneficial.

    •Banksman training beneficial.


    Relevant Working Experience

    •Demonstrable experience working within a food or drinks processing, maturation, warehousing or blending environment.

    •Experience within the whisky or spirits industry would be advantageous.


    Skills

    •Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

    •Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.

    •Knowledge of SAP and DRAMS would be advantageous.

    •Understanding of risk assessments, safe systems of work and health & safety legislation.

    •Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.

    •Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build strong stakeholder relationships.

    •Familiarity with excise requirements and bonded warehouse operations.

    •Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage competing priorities.
