LEAD PLANNER / HEAD OF PLANNING
London / Hybrid Working + occasional travel
£90K - £110K + Package
A leadership opportunity within a growing planning consultancy.
This is one for an experienced planner who is ready to move beyond simply delivering programmes and take a genuine role in leading people, developing clients and helping shape a growing planning function.
I'm working with a specialist consultancy that's looking to appoint a Lead Planner / Head of Planning to work closely with the Planning Director as a key part of the leadership team.
You'll combine your technical planning expertise with team leadership, client development and commercial responsibility, working across some of the UK's most complex infrastructure programmes.
The role will give you responsibility across:
- Leading, mentoring and developing a team of planning professionals
- Supporting business growth, bids and strategic client relationships
- Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and supply chain partners
- Providing senior-level planning advice across major infrastructure programmes
- Managing commercial performance and contributing to P&L
- Overseeing programme reporting and presenting to senior stakeholders
- Managing change control, compensation events and EOT assessments
- Reviewing contracts and identifying programme and commercial risks
- Driving collaborative planning, lean methodologies and best practice
- Helping shape the future direction of the planning function
We're looking for someone with:
- Extensive Primavera P6 experience
- Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts
- Previous consultancy experience
- Strong understanding of compensation events, EOTs and commercial planning
- Proven experience leading and developing planning teams
- Strong client-facing and relationship management skills
- Excellent reporting, presentation and stakeholder management abilities
- Power BI and advanced reporting experience
- Experience across major infrastructure, ideally highways or heavy civil engineering
