How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

    About the Role

Melbourne View is a 24-hour supported housing service providing mental health support to 12 people living in their own self-contained flats. As a Recovery Worker, you'll work alongside residents to help them build confidence, develop independent living skills and achieve their personal recovery goals.

As this is a 24-hour service, you'll be required to work a flexible shift pattern, including early, late and overnight sleep-in shifts, as well as weekends and public holidays, to ensure continuous support for the people we work with. There are also opportunities to work additional hours through overtime for those who wish to increase their earnings.

Previous experience in supported housing, mental health or a similar support setting is desirable but not essential. We're looking for compassionate, motivated people who share our values and are committed to making a positive difference.

    What You'll Do

You'll work collaboratively with people using our service to:

    *

Support them to manage and improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

    *

Develop independent living skills, including budgeting, tenancy sustainment, accessing education, employment and community services.

    *

Encourage choice, independence and active involvement in decisions about their lives.

    *

Build confidence, resilience and meaningful routines that support long-term recovery.

    *

Promote positive wellbeing and help people achieve goals that matter to them.

To Succeed in This Role, You'll Need

    *

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships.

    *

The ability to respond calmly, professionally and compassionately to sensitive and complex situations.

    *

A genuine passion for supporting people and advocating for those with mental health needs.

    *

The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.

    *

Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate, confidential records.

    *

A flexible approach to working shifts, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and overnight sleep-ins.
