How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Head of Project Development – Renewable Energy & Data Centres

Our client is a rapidly growing UK-based energy and infrastructure development platform, backed by institutional capital and an experienced management team.

The business develops complex renewable energy, battery storage and data centre projects, taking opportunities from initial site identification through planning, grid connection and investment readiness.

This newly created senior leadership role will take responsibility for an expanding project portfolio, leading developments through:

    • Site identification, feasibility and land acquisition
    • Planning, permitting and stakeholder engagement
    • Grid applications and connection agreements
    • Fibre, water, cooling and wider utility strategies
    • Project programmes, budgets and development risk
    • Investment papers, due diligence and commercial strategy
    • Strategic partnerships, transactions and project monetisation

The successful candidate will work closely with internal land, commercial, technical and investment teams while managing external consultants, network operators, planning authorities, utility providers and infrastructure partners.

As the portfolio grows, you will also have the opportunity to build and lead a wider project development team and help shape the company’s long-term strategy across renewable energy and digital infrastructure.

    The ideal candidate will bring:

    • A strong track record developing complex energy or infrastructure projects
    • Experience across land, planning, grid connections and project feasibility
    • A background in renewable energy, battery storage, data centres, digital infrastructure, utilities or industrial development
    • Strong commercial judgement and multidisciplinary project leadership skills
    • The credibility to influence investors, partners and senior stakeholders

Direct data centre development experience would be advantageous, although candidates with broader renewable energy or infrastructure consents experience and a strong understanding of power-intensive developments will also be considered.
