How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Conrad Consulting have partnered with a thriving, medium-sized architectural studio in the heart of Sheffield to recruit an experienced Project Architect with proven job-running capability.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and evolving practice that has firmly established itself as one of Sheffield’s leading architectural studios. Over recent years, the practice has grown organically and developed an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality, technically considered projects across a diverse range of sectors, including Education, Healthcare, Energy, Life Sciences, R&D, Industrial and Commercial.

With a talented team of around 30 Architects, Designers and Technicians, the studio prides itself on its collaborative and supportive culture. The team enjoys a professional yet friendly working environment, with regular social events and a strong emphasis on collaboration, knowledge sharing and professional development.

    The Role

As a Project Architect, you will take a hands-on role in the design and delivery of projects, working across all RIBA Stages from initial concept through to completion.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, taking ownership of their projects and playing an active role throughout the entire project lifecycle. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of schemes, coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high technical standard.

Working closely with senior team members, you will play an important role in client liaison, consultant coordination and contractor engagement, while maintaining a strong involvement throughout both the design and construction phases.

The practice is particularly keen to hear from Architects with experience delivering medium to large-scale projects, ideally within sectors such as Education, Healthcare, R&D Laboratories and Industrial. A significant proportion of the studio’s upcoming workload is within the Education and Healthcare sectors.

This opportunity would suit an Architect who is confident taking ownership of projects, enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and wants to remain closely involved in seeing projects progress from concept through to successful completion on site.

    Key Requirements

Qualified Architect with ARB registration; RIBA membership would be advantageous

    Typically 3–7 years’ post-Part 3 experience

Proven experience delivering projects across all RIBA Stages

Strong job-running experience and confidence taking ownership of projects

Experience delivering medium to large-scale schemes

Sector experience within Education, Healthcare, R&D Laboratories and/or Industrial projects would be highly desirable

Strong technical knowledge, particularly through the detailed design and construction stages

Experience managing projects through to completion on site

Proficient in Revit and comfortable working within a BIM-enabled environment

Proven ability to coordinate consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams

    Confident client-facing communication skills

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing workloads and deadlines effectively

A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute positively to the wider studio team

    What’s on Offer

Competitive salary of £40,000–£45,000 per annum

    Comprehensive benefits package

Hybrid working arrangements, combining studio-based working with flexibility

The opportunity to take genuine ownership of projects from concept through to completion

Exposure to a varied portfolio of medium and large-scale, technically challenging projects

A supportive and collaborative studio environment

Opportunities for continued professional development and career progression

If you’re an experienced Project Architect looking to take ownership of high-quality projects while working within a collaborative and ambitious Sheffield studio, we’d love to hear from you.
