We are currently recruiting Prison Security Escorts (also known as Contractor Escorts) to join the team at HMP The Mount. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in a secure environment, with potential pathways to permanent roles.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Prison Security Escort, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety and security while external contractors carry out work within the prison. Your duties will include:
- Meeting and signing in contractors at the main gate
- Conducting tool checks before and after work is completed
- Escorting contractors to and from work areas and during breaks
- Supervising contractors during their tasks
- Ensuring strict adherence to prison security protocols
- Supporting other operational tasks as requiredThis is a non-supervisory operational support role.

We're seeking individuals who are:
- Level-headed and security-conscious
- Able to follow procedures and understand their importance
- Honest, observant, and confident in reporting concerns
- Proactive and capable of working independentlyRequirements
To be considered, you must:
- Pass a full prison security clearance and enhanced DBS check (arranged by Hays and the MOJ)
- Provide a valid passport or full birth certificate and photo driving licence (at your current address)
- Show proof of National Insurance and a recent proof of address (dated within the last 3 months)
- Supply satisfactory references covering the last 3 yearsWhat You'll Get in Return
