How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Dispersed Accommodation Practitioner

    Location: Leicester, Leicestershire
    Salary: £26,421 per annum (pro rata)
    Hours: 22.5, 28 or 37 hours per week
    Contract: Fixed term until 31 March 2027

    We have 3 positions available for Dispersed Accommodation Practitioners to provide practical, emotional and personal development support to adults and children affected by domestic abuse living in dispersed accommodation.

    The Role

    Provide one-to-one support, safety planning and practical assistance.
    Support clients with housing, tenancy and welfare needs.
    Complete regular property visits and ensure accommodation is safe and well maintained.
    Complete assessments, support plans, risk assessments and case records.
    Liaise with safeguarding, housing, health and other partner agencies.
    Support clients to access community services and move-on accommodation.
    Advocate for clients and represent them at meetings where required.
    Work alongside colleagues and volunteers to deliver a high-quality service.
    Participate in occasional evening and weekend work when required.

    What We're Looking For

    Experience supporting vulnerable adults and children.
    Understanding of domestic abuse and its impact.
    Experience in refuge, hostel, supported accommodation or a similar setting is desirable.
    Knowledge of safeguarding and multi-agency working.
    Strong communication, organisation and administration skills.
    Ability to complete assessments, support plans and case records.
    Commitment to equality, diversity and non-discriminatory practice.
    Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
