How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Commercial Engineer

    Salary: £45,000 per annum
    Location: [DE Postcode]
    Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

    We are looking for an experienced Commercial Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who is confident working in commercial environments and looking for a stable role with no out-of-hours call-outs.

    You will be responsible for carrying out service, repair and installation work across a range of commercial sites, providing a professional and reliable service to our customers.

    The Role

    * Carrying out planned and reactive service and repair work within commercial settings.

    * Installing equipment and systems to a high standard.

    * Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs.

    * Completing testing, inspection and commissioning where required.

    * Maintaining accurate service and job records.

    * Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with relevant health and safety procedures.

    * Representing the company professionally when working on customer sites.

    * Working independently while maintaining good communication with the wider team.

    Working Hours

    * Monday to Friday – standard working hours.

    * No out-of-hours work or call-out rota.

    * 1 in 4 Saturdays on a rota basis.

    * Saturday work paid at time and a half.

    Requirements

    The successful candidate will ideally have:

    * Proven experience as a Commercial Engineer or in a similar engineering role.

    * Strong experience in service, repair and installation.

    * Experience working within commercial environments.

    * Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

    * The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

    * Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.

    * A strong commitment to health and safety and quality workmanship.

    * Relevant industry qualifications and certifications.

    * A full UK driving licence.
