How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Opportunity: SEN Teacher - Autism Resource Base

    Location: Lambeth

    Start Date: ASAP

    Contract: Long-term / Full-time

    We are pleased to be supporting a well-regarded secondary school in recruiting a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join their Autism Resource Base.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed teacher with experience supporting children and young people with autism, who is passionate about providing high-quality education and creating a positive learning environment for students with additional needs.

    About the Role

    The successful candidate will work within the school's Autism Resource Base, supporting students with autism and a range of additional learning needs.

    You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students, while working closely with teaching assistants, SEN staff and the wider school team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with autism.
    Adapt the curriculum and learning activities to support different abilities and learning styles.
    Develop positive relationships with students and provide a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
    Use appropriate strategies to support students with autism, including communication, behaviour and sensory needs.
    Monitor student progress and provide appropriate feedback and support.
    Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SEN staff, pastoral teams and other professionals.
    Contribute to individual learning plans and wider SEND provision.
    Maintain a positive and well-managed learning environment.
    Support students in developing their independence, confidence and social skills.Person Specification

    QTS or relevant teaching qualification.
    Previous experience working with children or young people with autism is essential.
    Experience working within a specialist SEN setting, Autism Resource Base or similar environment would be highly desirable.
    Strong understanding of autism and the different ways it can impact learning and communication.
    Ability to differentiate and adapt teaching to meet individual student needs.
    Strong classroom management and communication skills.
    A patient, nurturing and inclusive approach to teaching.
    Ability to work effectively as part of a wider SEN and pastoral team.
