How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join an established M&E contractor delivering high-quality commercial fit-out projects across London.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to take responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical services on a major commercial fit-out project, working closely with the Project Manager, site teams, subcontractors, consultants and client representatives.

    The Role

    As Mechanical Construction Manager, you will be responsible for managing the mechanical installation from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, to specification and to the required quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage and coordinate all mechanical installation activities on site.

    * Lead and manage mechanical subcontractors and site-based engineering teams.

    * Coordinate mechanical services with electrical, architectural, structural and other trades.

    * Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.

    * Monitor progress against the programme and identify potential delays or issues.

    * Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.

    * Work closely with the Project Manager and commercial team.

    * Review drawings, specifications, RAMS and technical information.

    * Coordinate materials, labour and plant requirements.

    * Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the installation.

    * Support commissioning, testing and handover activities.

    * Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and company policies.

    * Liaise professionally with the client, consultants and principal contractor.

    * Manage snagging through to successful completion.

    About You

    The successful candidate will have:

    * Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager, Mechanical Manager or similar role.

    * Strong experience working on commercial fit-out projects.

    * A solid understanding of mechanical building services, including HVAC, heating, chilled water, domestic services and associated systems.

    * Experience managing subcontractors and site teams.

    * Strong knowledge of construction programmes and project delivery.

    * Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.

    * Excellent communication and organisational skills.

    * A proactive approach to problem solving.

    * Strong health & safety awareness.

    * Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS and CSCS/SCS are highly desirable
