How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with specialist SEMH schools and alternative provisions across Dover and the surrounding areas. We are looking for caring, resilient and committed Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs on both a full-time and part-time basis.

    The Role

    As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help pupils who may experience emotional, behavioural or mental health challenges.

    You will support students with a range of additional needs, including:

    Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
    Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
    ADHD
    Attachment and Trauma-related needs
    Anxiety and Emotional Regulation difficulties
    Challenging BehaviourEvery day is different, and your role will be to build positive relationships, encourage engagement with learning and help create a safe, structured and supportive environment where pupils can succeed.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
    Promoting positive behaviour using consistent strategies.
    Helping students regulate their emotions and build resilience.
    Supporting learning activities both inside and outside the classroom.
    Encouraging confidence, independence and social development.
    Building trusting relationships with pupils, teachers and families.
    Working as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team to support individual learning plans.We're Looking For

    A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential.Previous SEMH or SEN experience is desirable but not essential, as full support and ongoing training will be provided.
