How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Music Teacher - Milton Keynes

    Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
    Start Date: ASAP or October Half Term 2026

    Are you an enthusiastic Music Teacher who is passionate about inspiring young people through performance, composition, and creativity?

    We are currently working with a number of inclusive and forward-thinking secondary schools across Milton Keynes, who are looking to appoint talented and committed Music Teachers to join their teams ASAP or from October half term 2026.

    These full-time opportunities are available on either a long-term or permanent basis, offering an exciting chance to join a supportive school community and make a lasting contribution to students' musical development.

    The Role

    As a Music Teacher, you will:

    Deliver engaging and well-planned Music lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 opportunities available in some schools
    Teach a varied curriculum covering performance, composition, musical theory, listening, and analysis
    Encourage students to explore different musical styles, genres, and traditions
    Use music technology and digital resources to enhance creativity and learning
    Prepare students effectively for GCSE and A-Level Music, where applicable
    Encourage participation in choirs, bands, ensembles, concerts, productions, and extracurricular clubs
    Support students in developing their confidence, creativity, technical ability, and musical understanding
    Contribute to school performances, concerts, and wider arts events
    Create an inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to experiment and express themselves

    Who We're Looking For

    We're keen to hear from Music Teachers who:

    Hold QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
    Have strong subject knowledge across Music and a genuine passion for the subject
    Are confident teaching both practical and theoretical aspects of Music
    Can inspire students through engaging, creative, and practical lessons
    Have experience or an interest in using music technology and digital software
    Possess strong classroom management skills and maintain high expectations
    Are enthusiastic about contributing to extracurricular music and performing arts activities
    Work well as part of a collaborative department
    Are committed to supporting students of all abilities and backgroundsECTs are encouraged to apply, with supportive schools offering mentoring and professional development.
