How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Business Development Executive

    Type: Permanent, 37.5 Hours Per Week

    Location: Office based, Warrington

    Hours: 7:30am – 4:00pm or 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

    Rate of pay: £26,000 - £30,000 base salary (depending on experience), plus uncapped commission. Annual OTE £36,000 - £48,000 per annum

    The Opportunity
     We're building out our business development team and looking for people early in their career, ready to specialise in construction and engineering recruitment. You'll focus on winning new business — building relationships with decision-makers and identifying opportunities to help clients secure the talent they need. Commission is uncapped, and you'll be trained properly and up to speed fast, working alongside experienced consultants across our specialist divisions.

    What You'll Do

    Identify new business opportunities through proactive outreach and market mapping
    Make outbound calls to build relationships with decision-makers
    Arrange client meetings, joining alongside experienced consultants both on-site and at head offices
    Identify live projects and recruitment requirements within target accounts
    Support commercial negotiations on terms and rates
    Keep your CRM updated with accurate activity and records
    Work closely with our resourcing team to hand over live opportunities and support successful placementsTraining & Development
     Trained on the desk alongside experienced consultants, building skills in:

    Business Development – how to approach a new market and consistently win new business
    Account Development – how to grow client relationships into long-term partnerships
    Commercial Negotiation – how to negotiate terms and rates that work for both sidesBenefits
