How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are seeking an experienced and technically minded Solutions Consultant to join a growing engineering and technology-focused business.

    This is a key role that sits at the intersection of engineering, product development, sales and marketing, helping to understand customer challenges and translate technical requirements into innovative, practical solutions.

    You will work closely with customers and internal teams to support pre-sales activity, deliver technical presentations and demonstrations, and help develop solutions that meet specific customer needs.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the engineering and manufacturing sectors, with experience across areas such as Rail, Industrial, Aviation, Aerospace or Defence particularly beneficial.

    Key Responsibilities
    Lead pre-sales initiatives across multiple industries, delivering engaging sales presentations and technical support.
    Develop a strong understanding of customers’ businesses, technical requirements and processes to provide tailored solutions.
    Conduct product demonstrations, technical workshops and Proof of Concept (PoC) projects, presenting findings clearly.
    Collaborate with marketing teams to produce high-quality proposals and sales materials aligned with customer requirements.
    Work closely with sales and product development teams to ensure a smooth transition from initial engagement through to delivery.
    Coordinate with R&D, delivery and customer service teams to support successful project implementation.
    Provide customer and market feedback to product development teams, helping shape future product roadmaps.
    Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key internal stakeholders.
    The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and technically capable professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

    You will ideally have:

    Previous experience in a pre-sales, solutions consulting or consultative selling environment.
    Hands-on technical experience and a strong understanding of relevant engineering technologies.
    Experience within Rail, Industrial, Aviation, Aerospace or Defence would be advantageous.
    A Bachelor's degree or higher in Science, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Strong presentation skills and the ability to build trusted customer relationships.
    The flexibility and willingness to travel internationally and throughout the UK, up to 40%.Key Competencies
