How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    TXM are currently supporting an established, innovation-led engineering business in the recruitment of an experienced Business Development Manager to support continued growth across the Industrial and Infrastructure sectors.

    This is a key commercial role focused on developing and executing business development strategies, identifying new opportunities and expanding market share across existing and emerging markets.

    The successful candidate will combine strong commercial awareness with a technical understanding of electronics and electro-mechanical products, working closely with customers and internal engineering, commercial and production teams to develop solutions that meet customer requirements.

    Key Responsibilities
    Develop and execute a business development strategy across the Industrial and Infrastructure sectors.
    Identify and develop new business opportunities while increasing market share within existing markets.
    Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, distributors and key stakeholders.
    Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback to identify opportunities and inform business strategy.
    Work closely with engineering and product teams to tailor solutions to customer requirements.
    Develop a strong understanding of market supply chains, procurement processes and relevant industry standards.
    Manage projects from opportunity through to quotation and tender, working closely with commercial, technical and production teams.
    Prepare tender documentation, quotations and commercial proposals.
    Maintain accurate sales forecasts and provide monthly sales reports.
    Manage and develop the opportunity pipeline and customer database through CRM systems.
    Develop and implement initiatives to enter new markets and grow existing accounts.
    Regularly engage with customers and travel across the UK and internationally where required.About YouWe are looking for a commercially driven and technically minded Business Development professional with a proven track record within an Industrial, Infrastructure, Engineering or related environment.

    You will ideally have:

    5+ years' experience in business development, technical sales or applications engineering.
    Experience selling electronics and/or electro-mechanical products into industrial or infrastructure markets.
    The ability to engage confidently with both technical and procurement teams.
    Strong commercial, negotiation and presentation skills.
    Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
    Experience managing sales opportunities and pipelines through a CRM system.
    A self-motivated, target-driven and proactive approach.
    Strong problem-solving skills with a practical and commercially focused mindset.
    The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
    Flexibility and willingness to travel regularly across the UK and internationally.
    Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    A full UK driving licence.Qualifications
    Degree-level education or equivalent relevant experience.
    An engineering background would be advantageous.
