How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEMH Teaching Assistant - Lutterworth

    Location: Lutterworth
    Pay: £105 per day
    Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, term time only
    Start Date: ASAP / dependent on availability

    Aspire People have partnered with a specialist SEN school in Lutterworth who are looking for a passionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.

    This role would suit someone who has experience supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including challenging behaviour, emotional regulation difficulties and barriers to learning.

    About the Role

    As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, supported and ready to engage with their education.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs
    Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and managing their feelings
    Helping children develop positive coping and behavioural strategies
    Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
    Supporting pupils who may display challenging or disruptive behaviour
    Using positive reinforcement and consistent boundaries
    Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
    Supporting classroom engagement and personal development
    De-escalating difficult situations calmly and professionally
    Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals
    Creating a safe, structured and nurturing environment

    The Ideal Candidate

    Has previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
    Is confident supporting challenging behaviour
    Has a calm, patient and empathetic approach
    Is resilient and able to remain composed under pressure
    Can build positive relationships with pupils who may struggle to trust adults
    Understands the importance of clear boundaries and consistency
    Is passionate about supporting children's emotional wellbeing
    Works well as part of a wider team
    Is committed to working Monday-Friday, term time only
