How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Test and Inspection Engineer

    Droitwich | From £35,090 + Benefits | Permanent | On-site

Are you an electrically qualified engineer who enjoys working with high-power electrical equipment, fault finding and hands-on testing?

Here’s an opportunity to join a globally recognised engineering business at its manufacturing facility in Droitwich.

The company designs and manufactures highly specialised induction melting and automatic pouring equipment for foundries across the UK and Europe. With a long-established reputation within the industry, this is an exciting opportunity to join a technically advanced environment where no two days are quite the same.

As a Test Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring complex equipment is tested, inspected and signed off to the highest standards before it reaches the customer.

    The Role

You’ll be working hands-on with sophisticated electrical, electronic, hydraulic and control systems, testing equipment ranging from smaller systems through to high-power installations up to 15MW.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Testing and inspecting inverters and control systems from 15KW to 15MW.
Testing induction melting furnaces ranging from 1Kg to 35 tonnes.
Testing hydraulic fluid control systems, ancillary panels and associated components.
Testing water cooling systems and associated equipment.
Testing PC and PLC-based metal melting control systems.
Calibration and programming of electronic boards and modules.
Carrying out online PLC fault diagnosis.
Using electrical test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes and three-phase power analysers.
Working with electrical supplies from 415VAC to 1150VAC.
Connecting coils and furnaces to power units under test.
Connecting water fittings and electrical supplies to equipment.
Operating overhead cranes and forklift trucks where required.
Testing, inspecting and signing off manufactured equipment and component parts prior to dispatch.
Working closely with Design Engineers, Service Engineers and shop-floor colleagues to identify and resolve technical issues.
Completing relevant quality and administration documentation.
    About You

This role would suit an experienced Electrical Test Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Commissioning Engineer or Controls Engineer who enjoys working hands-on with complex equipment.

    You’ll ideally have:

An HNC in Electrical qualifications or equivalent minimum qualification.
Strong knowledge of single and three-phase electrical circuits, particularly high-power systems.
Good knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuitry.
Experience working with PLC systems and online fault diagnosis.
Experience testing live electrical equipment within a controlled test environment.
Knowledge of electrical test and measurement equipment.
HV and LV switchgear training would be advantageous.
Experience or training in electrical safety, risk assessment, LOTO or IOSH would be beneficial.
The confidence to work safely around high-voltage and high-power equipment.
A practical, methodical approach to fault finding and problem solving.
    What you’ll get in return

This isn't a routine testing role.

You’ll be working with large-scale, technically sophisticated equipment, gaining exposure to high-power electrical systems, PLCs, controls, hydraulics, cooling systems and specialist induction technology.

You'll also work alongside experienced Design and Service Engineers, giving you the opportunity to broaden your technical knowledge and become a key part of the manufacturing and testing process.

If you're looking for a hands-on engineering role where your technical skills really matter, this could be an excellent next step.

    The Package

    Salary from £35,090 per annum

    Company pension
Discretionary annual pension bonus of up to a further 11% subject to company performance criteria
    Free parking
33 days holiday (including bank holidays) additional days subject to service
